While the court is temporarily at John Maddison Tower in the CBD, that venue is close to Museum and Town Hall stations and CBD bus routes, with paid commercial parking nearby. At its permanent Bronte Road location, the closest major transport hub is Bondi Junction train and bus interchange (about a 10-15 minute walk), with paid parking at Eastgate or Westfield Bondi Junction and limited street parking near the court. Always check which venue your matter is listed at before you travel.
Court generally begins at 9:30am, but you should aim to arrive by around 9:00am to clear security screening and locate your courtroom. When you arrive, check the daily court list - displayed on screens in the foyer and available online through the NSW Online Registry - to find your courtroom number. Your first appearance is usually a mention, a short procedural hearing where the charge is confirmed and the court notes your plea. Matters are not always heard in list order, so be prepared to wait. Dress neatly, turn your phone off before entering the courtroom, and wait for your name to be called. If you have a lawyer, they can announce your appearance, speak to the police prosecutor on your behalf and, where appropriate, ask the court to adjourn your matter to allow time to prepare.
